 :-)hi guys just want to share 1 of the 4 kits ive been busy with lately for the past 8 months.... and this was suppose to be my entry for the last in house contest..  (didnt make it, but it still an advantage..more time to finish)  well here are some shots ill go to detailed pics later ok....

start with the gun: fullscratchbuilt:
 http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250405.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250403.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250402.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250400.jpg

The flamethrower: ive been working on it still, i used the zaku bazooka as the base shaft and added details and the tanks are from wave..(chop them up due to its length);
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250409.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250408.jpg
 http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250407.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9250406.jpg

the head, shoulder and upper torso:
 http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260417.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260415.jpg

MODS done:
--the head armor is sculpted using epoxy clay and plastic sheets as base form, it was directly sculpted to the zaku's backpack to secure its attachment. and texture was applied using a regular putty applied by sponging...then further detailed with strips of pla plates to enhance look and tons of minus molds and rivets.
--the humps on the shoulder armor is from a guncannon dunno what part, then applied texture to the thing and adding some detail part like rivets and heavy armor hooks to further make it a heavy armor mech
--the upper torso was buff up by using some some scrap parts or armor from another zaku' chest and integrated it to the chest... ill use the holes to put cables in later after painting..the strips of pla plates are all around the mech as suppose to unify the design.

the backpack:
 http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260421.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260423.jpg

MODS done:
--the pack is also integrated to the head armor as one piece... i used different scraps to form the initial shape like starters, vents from astray red frame, and from armor tanks motorcycle kits leftover from previous scavenging..
--the mounted beam cannon is from a guncannon and detailed the cannon by using the missile pod covers from the blaze zaku and added some internals and sensors..(ill show more details after this  )
--lastly is the tanks attached to the pack is from a zgok experiment tanks  and updated it by adding some additional shape to it to unify it with the buff mech and scattered some more minus molds and rivets.   :embarrased:

the skirts:
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260416.jpg

MODS done:
--added some extra armor to the side skirts for mounting and option parts purposes and added texture by sponging putty on it.. well added some rivets again  :doh:
--the front skirts is were some of experimenting with other materials for armors were done...if you look closely the added pla plates are textured differently... i experimented with different adhesives and tapes to come up with the final texture..
--the crotch area is also detailed with pla strips and i also put lifting mechnanism "or something" on the lower part, scratchbuilt it and scrap parts from armor tanks
--i also included hand grenade mounts on the front skirts..still a work in the process but already done with the modified grenades...pics later.

the arms:
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260424.jpg
refer to the first pic on the WIP for the front part of the arms

MODS done:
--this is my first attempt on scribing panel lines on curve surfaces and for me its really hard :twitch:..so is still a work in progress but for now im loving it :D
--added rivets and minus molds AGAIN  :meh2: and as well as the textured plate made from tapes.

the legs and feet;
 http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260422.jpg
http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb221/jmrquinsaat/custom%20ground%20type%20zaku/P9260420.jpg

MODS done:
--texturing done with putty and sponge..
--added strips as well
--at the front is some kind of rollbars but it will serve another purpose post it later if done
--additional thrusters were from different scrap parts
--panel lines were scribe all over the lower leg
(its not that visible due to the pics but ill try to post better pics later, also not shown clearly is the detailing ive done on the upper legs added panel lines and pla plates)
--added rivets and minus molds AGAIN
--the feet was the trickiest part of my mods, i extended the front part ALA DOM but not to the extent that it will obscure the whole thing na parang si ronald mcdonald

here is the zaku: :embarrased:

well next post will be the painting part.thats it for now ill post other areas of the mech later..hope to finish this kit soon :embarrased:
hope youll enjoy :embarrased:

Wow cool stuff!
I like the comics look of the gun!
The kit is very busy but it looks coherent visually!
The only thing that doesn't quite do it for me is the head mod, it seems a bit weird, like a mix between a Marasai and a pharaoh. :D

Yeah, It looks pretty cool. First thing I thought was "Hey, its the Pharoh guy from DarkStalkers!."   :D The gun looks awesome, has a real "nuts & bolts" feel to it. The flamethrower looks promising, too. And yeah, its real busy but so is most of Kinzaa's stuff.

I agree 100% about the head. It is not blending well at all with the rest of the kit. The shape and form of the addition is throwing everything off, and it is so visually large that all my eye is attracted to is the head piece. I would recommend trying to re-work it's shape, right now it is overpowering all of the other cool stuff you've done.

 :D thanks for all your comments guys...really appreciated :D

and i think all of the reactions are on the head works ;)...i posted it on our forums and the same comments...from the usual pharoah to votoms or a terran from starcraft was the initial visual reactions...and for me its just great....the head mods really was based on an earlier design of mine and already finished kit..a blaze zaku as a marine and land type mech....  well for now im liking it... :embarrased: and on to painting now....( and proportions are turning out much way better due to contrast of colors.) and will probably post better pics to give it justice :embarrased:

sir ezechiel,
thanks again sir...i really put much time and effort on that gun..but my works are amateur compared to your scrachbuilding skills. :D

@fredfekker
thanks man..trying to finish the flamethrower..and im liking it so much that it will not be one of the zaku's weapons..ill be giving it to a much worthier kit 8)...and on the kit being busy..i think its just my style..i just cant stand a plane surface :lol:thank you sir.

@mtomczek
sir thanks..but at this stage, cant rework the head...ill just finish the kit and make the head its crowning glory for it really is :embarrased:now just ive said sir the head is much better proportioned now that it is painted..alot of the posted photos really throw the kits scale and so sorry for that....thanks again sir.

I look at that zaku and I see an elephant. I don't know... the head looks weird but because it looks different then a regular zaku I like it. Nice job.
