I fell in love with this sculpt the first time I set eyes on it and just KNEW that I had to have it!  This is my take on Joe Simon's gorgeous new-age Vampy, done up in a magnificent, flawless casting by Paul at Model Giants.  I wanted the crypt and angel to look as if its been in a New Orleans graveyard for centuries, complete with the mold and rot that grows on the above-ground crypts common along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast.

Texture was done with makeup sponges, sea sponges, heavy primer, and eleven different shades of watercolors.  Earrings are scratchbuilt.

I hope you like her.

The stone's surface is awesome, really very realistic, but the girl looks like she had a bit too much surface blur for supper...
There was a terrible ghastly silence.
There was a terrible ghastly noise.
There was a terrible ghastly silence.

I love Vampirella and this is a gorgeous piece as always Filmy. The skintone is a bit to life-like for me but its still flawless. Your stone texture is great up close. you can almost see the masons tool marks. Great job as usual sir.

The figure of Vampirella turned out great, I especially like the statue of the angel in the back. The stone work looks really nice, Great Job!!!  :-)

Was the paint job on the statue just painted and weatherized?

Very nice piece Marc. The stone work is wonderful and I'd love to see a tutorial on that. Even the mechanophiles would be interested there. The figure is great as usual.

Something seems off about the eyes to me. They look good enough and it's not that they're flawed or anything. I think it's that black eyeliner style (seen on ALL kits of the chick vampire and classic horror lines, so it's not just you). It makes the eyes look fake somehow. Then again, it looks that way with the movies too so that's probably a good thing!

I meant her skin is too smooth, but come to think of it, it may be because the statue behind her is so rough :)
