Hi all
waiting for the completion of my new "big" project, let's my new "small" project. :-)
REFERENCES:
It's a well-known subject from Paolo Parente's Dust series, the Gunther: http://www.dustgame.com/shop/detail.php?id=17
I remember the excellent work Braxat2000 made on it sometimes ago: http://fichtenfoo.com/forum/index.php?topic=1629.0
There's also an in-progress groupbuild on NKG right nowwith a lot of Gunther interpretations: http://www.nkgcommunity.it/forum/index.php?board=28.0
Kallamity page: http://kallamity.com/products/view/NO%20CODE

Modelling on it, I've decided to modify it a lot.
It's a sort of "cut and paste" of the parts of the model.
Above all the legs, I didn't like them very much, so I've reversed them, changing all parts senses.
Also pelvis, chest and weapons' bodies are heavily modified or scratchbuildt somewhere.
Cannons were "stolen" from my caster's "Semovente" kit http://www.brachmodel.it/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=1&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=32&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

I'm trying to make good textures on the surfaces and to reach them with weldings, boltings, rivets, etc...

Oh man, this thing is cool.
I love the new barrels you added too it, as well as the rest of your mods. However, the most intriguing part would have to be that texture you added to the surface of it, I can't wait to see the paint get applied. Can't see anything that I don't like, but that is what I expect from you Luca.

It's a beauty Luca as usual. Has a very Macross Destroid feel to it now. Will this be a one-off or a potential kit?

Luca you never cease to amaze me. I think the legs look ten times better, gives the mech a much lighter, more nimble feel to it. Well done, sir.

Thanks Anatole, I can't wait to paint it me too.
The problem is short times, so I won't do a complex painting as Garbaldy ...I hope

Thanks Michael!
Yes'you're completely right. Also NKG people noticed that, I've bought lathed cannons for doing that look.
That'll be one-off. It's very, very FUNNY making "normal" models, without putting holes, without considering undercuts or everything else ...

Yes, I think are better me too. BtW, the fun is to modify this kit, as you can see on other Gunther interpretations on NKG Dust contest entries.

I hope something smilar could be possible in the future also here. I'll suggest that to Paolo in near future for sure, if he and Michael will agree..

thanks all
z

nice mod...I like the leg mod. I am also working on this kit but found the actual kit is relfecting Paolo's drawing... I will copy your mod on the leg :).

Also if you have a chance to see Paolo's Luther GK kit, please give him some comment...I feel it more like a toy than a resin model kit for adult.... there are a lot of detail up work to do on the current kit to make it attractive!

I didn't see Luther kit yet. As soon as I see it I'll think to what you said for sure.
Thanks

Stellar work as usual Luca!

Ako, can you please tell a bit more of this issue with Luther?
What's the problem with it? It is pretty expensive for such a small kit.
Sorry for OT.

Cheers,
Mikko

Hi ZLuca
This is looking great, love the mod. What you consider a small project is pretty big for normal people's standard
It almost become another brand new design.

I think the modified leg design is the biggest improvement overall.  The big cannon looks great, but I dig the leg design even more.

Overall it's a great improvement over a good design. Much more aggressive looking. Even with those huge guns, it looks fast. The angles look more Battletech/Mechwarrior, but since they "borrowed" heavily from Macross, I guess the above statement covers it.

I can't get the NKG forum to load. I'd like to see other takes on this model. Still gotta get me one.
I wonder about the guy that can sit through a David Lynch movie and say, "I saw that coming."

That thing is AWESOME!!! If it was coming at me on the battlefield I'd be scared as hell. Looks fast as a Valkyrie and tough as a heavy battlemech. Nice work!
